Want to learn more about Honey Paddle Farm?

Every Honey Paddle scoop is carefully planned the growing season before a honey harvest. For the 2024 season you can look forward to our McKenzie River Blossom Honey and our Bee’s Friend Honey.

  • Our family started keeping bees in 2018. Finding ourselves tight on space, we started looking for farm property where we could sustainably increase the number of hives we manage and grow flowers for fresh market bouquets. In 2021, our dream expanded to include a seasonal you-pick flower field.

  • Since 2020, we have built the farm one fence post at a time. In 2021, we built the barn and then added a high tunnel structure to extend our flower season in 2022.

  • Our first growing season was in 2020 and we started clearing the land to plant immediately. The land had not been previously farmed in over a decade and was overgrown with canary grass and invasive blackberries, but it was important to us to start early to extend the honey season and provide vital bee forage.

We planted over 10 acres of borage, phacelia, and 3 different types of clover. Each cover crop was vetted on its ability to build the soil and contribute as a food source for the bees.

Our second and third year, we succession planted mustard, phacelia, and specialty cut flowers. Our signature release of McKenzie River Blossom Honey captures the essence of our growing season at our farm.

This last year, we were able to welcome customers to pick tulips in March and delivered our Christmas Porch Pots in December.

Our mission is to create an environment for bees to craft delicious honey from honey producing cover crops and farm fresh flowers.
